Cool, dark and sealed upright. Heat and sunlight are what age an e-liquid, darkening the color and dulling the flavor. A drawer is fine; a hot car is not. Full storage and shelf-life detail is in how long does salt nic last.

It degrades rather than spoils. Unopened and stored properly, a bottle stays good for well over a year; the nicotine slowly oxidizes and the flavor dulls after that. Colour darkening on its own is normal and not a fault.
